I will explain it all.

Many companies use 'match grade' barrels but they are not the premium barrels that we use.  i.e.: Krieger and Douglas.  Many use other barrels that may have acceptable accuracy but do not have the general life expectancy of the brands that we use.  Additionally, many other companies do not sell their uppers with all of the 'standard' modifications that we do.  It may cost you extra to buy the upper/rifle with the floated handguard, match trigger, and modified sights.  We, on the other hand, automatically put the 'standard' modifications on all of the uppers we build.  It doesn't cost extra, it is included in the original price.

Despite what has been claimed about us on many occasions, we are a small company.  We have a total of 9 people employed here.  That includes Frank and Theresa, the owners.  We do not have hundreds of men out there building parts and guns.  We have just the 9 of us.  We also do not have warehouses full of parts and barrels.  The truth is, we run just like any other small business, day to day, month to month.

I assure you, if you assessed the time and cost that goes into the building of a rifle here at Compass Lake Engineering, you would not accuse us of price gouging or marking up our prices to pocket the extra profit.  We never got into this business to get rich.  We got into this business to promote the sport of highpower rifle shooting by enabling a greater number of people to shoot.  That is what we try to do.
