Upon experiencing a stuck cartridge…

1.      Place selector lever on “SAFE”.

2.      Remove magazine

3.      Disengage pivot pin (front) and takedown pin (rear).

4.      Separate upper and lower halves of receiver.

If unable to remove bolt carrier, use step 5.  If able to remove blot carrier, skip to step 8.

5.      With barrel pointed in a safe direction, insert rounded end of punch from the front to the rear of the underside of the upper receiver and place it on the aft end of the bolt carrier.

6.      Tap on the head of the punch with a suitable hammer or metal object until the bolt carrier moves freely.

7.      Remove bolt carrier and charging handle from receiver.

8.      If cartridge case is removed, ensure bore is clear, check for serviceability and re-assemble rifle.

9.      If cartridge remains in chamber, snap collet over exposed cartridge rim.

10. Push extractor sleeve towards chamber until it stops.

11. Insert T-handle allen wrench into receiver, engage the allen headed cap screw, and then push it forward to ensure collet is seated over cartridge case head.

12. While applying slight forward pressure, turn the T-handle clockwise until the cartridge case is extracted.

13. Remove extractor sleeve and cartridge case from the upper receiver.

14. Turn the T-handle counter-clockwise to expand the collet and release the case.

      15. After ensuring bore is clear and firearm is serviceable, re-assemble rifle and re-examine your hand-loads.
